Invincible Swiftness of Golden Crow

Mr. Papillon
“Unable to be contained, the heart that yearns for freedom”
Once, Zhuang Zhou dreamed he was a papillon, flying freely, yet utterly unhappy. Suddenly he awoke, still believing himself to be a papillon. He was having a Zhuang Zhou dream; inside a human shell, slowing breaking out of his cocoon. In the past, I read an article of great fantasy, Zhuang Qi’s“QiWuLun”. Now, I am fixated on becoming a papillon, brushing the downy feathers of my body. At 12.42 degrees, gently cracking open the cocoon and stretching out the body to be free.

let's leave this place roofless
Mountains grow beneath our "feet"
We have endured, and are now prepared
Pick up our hammers and ready our fists
The glass ceiling will be shattered

SWALLOW
“Do you remember the geographic coordinates of home?”
Swallows never get lost. In history, sailors tattooed swallows on their bodies as a prayer that they may safely sail away and return home. We, perhaps, are sailors, too; we are also the swallows illustrated on their chests and arms. We wander and yearn while in the middle of the ocean, leaving our profound sorrow and unknown loneliness on the coasts. On our journey, we wish for the swallows to keep those who are waiting on the other side of the horizon in mind; that our sadness be devoured by the tides and we remember each other when the ship whistles twice.

No man is an island
「No man is an island, entire of itself, every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.」-John Donne
People are brought into the collective from the moment they are born, and in the process cannot break away or live alone in the world. Perhaps everyone has felt lonely at some point. This piece investigates loneliness, and seeks to develop the relationships between people and the objects around them. It aims to explore the multiple inner emotions that coexist within the single individual.

Body Inside Out
“Infinitely extend, prolong, and expand the stories of each moment”
A sudden moment that makes one weep; a shift from regret to fury; a night after disappointment, watching the starry sky and seeking a sense of belonging; hallucinations in the moment before the body and soul separate.
When what is left in this world is only me and myself; conversations with myself.
I shall strive until exhaustion to feel every moment, every sound.
There are no fluctuations on the surface, in spite of the growling and roaring bursting from within.
Like a frog flipped inside out, astonishing is its nakedness and shame.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Inspired by two concepts of time, the "past" and "present". Looking back at the "past" from "now", moments inadvertently recalled may be of warmth and happiness, or pain and regret. Whether the memory is good or bad, when you think back, you fall deep into the past and relive the beautiful or pick through scenes of missed opportunity etched deeply in memory. Only when you find a method and reason to let go, can you save yourself and be free. Those things that can never be forgotten and cannot be replaced were long ago taken care of.

How is everything?
In recent years, the world has been affected by the spread of the pandemic. The environment, the economy, how people get along – these have all been impacted. This work wants to share the personal experience during this period of how lives across the globe have changed due to the pandemic and how we live with it. The work is inspired by reflections on mentality, where the choreographer experienced an isolated life enclosed in four walls. A life of wearing masks and eye protection every day, unable to get together with family, friends and loved ones and only showing care through video calls. How long has it been since we had a face-to-face conversation? How long has it been since we gave each other a warm hug?

After Embracing Loneliness
People will have times when they feel darker or lower, and some are unable to vent and share with others. From discovering certain physical and psychological conditions that cannot be resolved and the conflicts that arise within, then finding resolutions and working through them within yourself, you can truly face yourself.

Left Right
A person who is ambidextrous encountered being beaten for holding a pen with the left hand, asked to change hands for pressing a guitar chord with the right hand and spending ten minutes using a can opener yet still being unable to open a can. These things sound ridiculous, but they all happened to me.
Everyone faces the problem of how to use the energy and emotions of their left and right sides at the same time. In play, the dominant hand is more powerful and coordinated. Therefore, on that side you will be better at turning, raising your leg, rolling, and throwing and catching. These habits of movement always fill our performances, but what if we can use both sides?

Could it be your lost opportunity? The one that got away? A broken necklace? Pity, it’s too late to cherish.

Dawn Chorus
I try so hard to revive those shattered pieces of the past, but the more I want things to work out, the more I realize that it cannot be forced. The only hope left is for time to heal the wounds, so that we can co-exist. This world is miserable beyond words, and all I wish is to weave a tender piece of art.
